Alexander BRIGER
Alexander BRIGER is one of Australia's preeminent Conductors and was Awarded the Order of Australia (AO) for "services to music as a leading conductor".
He has worked with Maestros Zubin MEHTA, Pierre BOULEZ and Riccardo MUTI and major international orchestras such as Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Teatro San Carlo, Philmarmonia Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Ensemble InterContemporain, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, Frankfurt Radio Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony, Swedish Radio Orchestra, Salzburg Mozarteum, Malaysian Philharmonic and every major Australian symphony orchestra.
He has performed with soloists including Alfred BRENDEL, Maria Joao PIRES and Murray PERAHIA, Paul LEWIS, Kirill GERSTEIN, Akiko SUWANAI and Julia FISHER.
Alexander has conducted for the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, English National Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Théâtre du Châtelet, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Teatro di San Carlo Opera, Naples, Berlin Komischeoper, Canadian Opera Company and Opera Australia among others.
In 2010, he founded the Australian World Orchestra, of which he is Artistic Director and Chief Conductor.
National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra
Founded in 1945, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO) is the oldest symphony orchestra in Taiwan. Since its establishment, it has been successively affiliated with the Taiwan Garrison Command, Taiwan Art Construction Association, Taiwan Provincial Department of Education, Department of Culture, Council for Cultural Affairs, and the Executive Yuan. In May of 2012, it came under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The orchestra is located in Wufeng, Taichung. It is a full-fledged music group with a full complement of software and hardware.
Over 70 years of history, under the directors of the past and the efforts of the current Director LIU Suan-yung, the NTSO has accumulated extensive performing experience. Countless international teams and musicians have been invited to perform with the NTSO.
Since 2019, the internationally renowned Conductor Maestro SHUI Lan has taken on the position of the NTSO Principal Guest Conductor, cooperating with the NTSO Director LIU to enrich artistic skills, innovate on tradition, deepen education, and promote aesthetics, thus enhancing the public's musical life, making music ever-present like air, water and sunshine.
