Artists Introduction
Piano|Ilinka MANOVA
Born in Macedonia, studied piano with Dr. Arbo VALDMA Valdma in Cologne, Germany, and Dr. Solomon MIKOVSKY at the Manhattan School of Music. Ilinka is a winner of the Artists International Competition in New York. She gave a solo recital at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall in 2001. She received other awards, including the prestigious DAAD German Scholarship in 1995 and the Yugoslav National Competition Award for Musicians in Sarajevo.
Piano|HUANG Chuan-i
Joan HUANG Chuan-i earned a double Doctoral degrees in Piano Performance and in Accompanying and Chamber Music from the Eastman School of Music. She has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and Principal Keyboard in the U.S., Japan and Holland. Her compositions have been performed in public, including works for solo piano, two pianos, piano four-hand, art songs and choral music.
Violin|LEE Ssu-wei
Violinist LEE Ssu-Wei holds the Konzertexam from Hochschule für Musik Saar in Germany, a Master degree from Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and a Bachelor degree from the Taipei National University of the Arts.
In 2019, he won the Silver Medal at Walter Gieseking Chamber Music Competition in Germany. He has also served as the Concertmaster in Pacific Music Festival, and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany. Ssu-wei was a violinist of Les Dissonances Ensemble in France before returning to Taiwan. Recently, he was appointed to One Song Orchestra's Assistant Principal Violin.
Viola|LIN Chieh-yu
LIN Chieh-yu is a violist with Masters of Music degree from Le CNSM de Paris. In 2007 she was the winner of the Concours National des Jeunes Altistes, and was selected for the ARD and Max Rostal International Competition. She has collaborated regularly with Taiwan Connection and Counterpoint Ensemble.
Cello|PAN Wan-yi
Cellist, is a native of Taiwan, excels in both orchestral and chamber performances.
In 2014, she was invited to participate as a faculty member at the Beverly Hills International Music festival in Los Angeles and worked alongside with the renowned violinist Oleh KRYSA.
Dr. PAN returned to the United State in 2016 and received her Doctoral degree from Rutgers University in 2020. She is currently teaching at the Montclair State University Extension Division and the Princeton String Academy.
Oboe|CHANG Jui-chi
Ms. CHANG Jui-chi is a Professor of Oboe at the National Sun Yat-sen University. She studied at the Berlin University of the Arts under world-renowned oboist, Professor Burkhard GLAETZNER. Then earned her Doctoral degree at the University of Maryland.
Clarinet|CHEN I-chun
CHEN I-chun, a native of Taiwan, is an active performer, appearing frequently as a soloist and chamber musician. She holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Clarinet Performance at Michigan State University. Currently she teaches at National Sun Yat-sen University, as well as the Concertmaster at Kaohsiung City Wind Orchestra, Taiwan.
Bassoon|CHEN I-hsiu
CHEN I-hsiu currently serves as the Associate Principal Bassoon of the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan. As an advocate of chamber music, I-hsiu is a founding member of the ProArt Bassoon Ensemble, Bassoonism Bassoon Quartet, and Ensemble Opus 5.0. In addition, she has taken her collective experience and has been adjunct faculty at Tunghai University, National Kaohsiung Normal University, National Sun Yat-sen University, Fu Jen Catholic University, and Wu-ling Senior High School.
Horn|CHEN Yen-how
Professor CHEN Yen-how is now holding the post of adjunct Associate Professor and instructor of horn playing, chamber music and brass ensemble. After graduation from music department of TNUA, he studied abroad in Royal College of Music. He also participated in many orchestras as Solo Horn. Till now, multiple solo and chamber music concerts were held. Professor CHEN now stands as a mature and charming horn player, active in musical scenes.
