Artists Introduction
Clarinet|LIU Kai-ni
Kai-ni graduated from Detmold University of Music in Germany. In 2000-2001, she won consecutively in the Deutsche Musikrat Wettbewerb and National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. From 2003 to 2005 she worked for the Macau Orchestra. After returning to Taiwan, she was invited to serve as a guest clarinetist for the NTSO, KSO, and NSO. Kai-ni is the founder of the "Sen Trio d'Anches" and clarinetist of Taiwan Connection Chamber Orchestra. She teaches at the National Tainan University of Arts.
Violin|HSUEH Chih-chang
Assistant Professor in Taipei National University of the Arts. Former Concertmaster of Macao Orchestra, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra and TC Chamber Orchestra. Guest Concertmaster invitation from Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, among others.
Violin|LIANG Yan
Yan is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Taipei National University of the Arts with Nancy Tsung. She is a recipient of the inaugural Chamber Music Fellowship at the Tianjin Juilliard School, where she earned her Master of Music degree under the renowned violinist of Quatuor Ysaÿe, Guillaume Sutre and Shanghai Quartet, Weigang Li.
In 2020, Yan joined the Oak Piano Trio and participated in the 10th Osaka International Chamber Music Competition. In addition to performing on stage, she is also passionate about education. She has held the Ear-Training tutor and Chamber Music mentor positions for Pre-College and Graduate Studies at Tianjin Juilliard School.
Violin|TSAI Hsien-hsiu
Hsien-Hsiu Tsai has accomplished the Master degree from New England Conservatory under Prof. Dimitri Murrath. He also holds the Bachelor degree from Taipei National University of the Arts under Prof. Yi-Wen Chao and Prof. Chun-Heng. Mr. Tsai currently serves as a faculty of Tunghai University in the viola and chamber music departments. He has also been the violist of Taipei Symphony Orchestra and the violist of ensemble-in-residence at Taipei National University of the Arts.
Cello|HOU Jou-an
"Jou-An HOU, a cellist of enormous energy and personal warmth...an extraordinary artist," hailed by Bernard GREENHOUSE, founding member of Beaux Arts Trio. She has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Asia, Europe, South Africa, and the United States. She is the founding member of the MUSE Piano Trio.
HOU holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Cello Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. HOU is currently a full-time Associate Professor at the Soochow University in Taiwan.
