Artists Introduction
Horn|CHEN Yen-how
Professor CHEN Yen-how is now holding the post of adjunct Associate Professor and instructor of horn playing, chamber music and brass ensemble. After graduation from music department of TNUA, he studied abroad in Royal College of Music. He also participated in many orchestras as Solo Horn. Till now, multiple solo and chamber music concerts were held. Professor CHEN now stands as a mature and charming horn player, active in musical scenes.
Violin|CHEN Yu-wen
Born in Tainan, Violinist CHEN Yu-wen was a recipient of a full scholarship sponsored by the Evergreen Foundation for the Arts in Taiwan, and got her Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from New England Conservatory of Music at Boston. Being a full-time faculty of Music Department of National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung, Ms. CHEN is deeply interested in combining music with literature and has been organizing lecture concert series of "Hearing Words, Envisioning Music" every year.
Violin|LEE Ssu-wei
Violinist LEE Ssu-Wei holds the Konzertexam from Hochschule für Musik Saar in Germany, a Master degree from Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and a Bachelor degree from the Taipei National University of the Arts.
In 2019, he won the Silver Medal at Walter Gieseking Chamber Music Competition in Germany. He has also served as the Concertmaster in Pacific Music Festival, and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany. Ssu-wei was a violinist of Les Dissonances Ensemble in France before returning to Taiwan. Recently, he was appointed to One Song Orchestra's Assistant Principal Violin.
Viola|CHIANG I-chun
Recipient of the Chi-Mei Arts Award (music category) and a second-rounder in the Primrose International Viola Competition, Dr. CHIANG I-chun earned her Doctoral degree at CCM of University of Cincinnati under Masao KAWASAKI and Catharine Carroll LEES. Dr. CHIANG has been the Principal Viola with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, the violist of the Dakota Quartet, and viola instructor at Augustana College and Tunghai University. She is currently on the faculty at the General Education Center of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology.
Viola|LIN Chieh-yu
LIN Chieh-yu is a violist with Masters of Music degree from Le CNSM de Paris. In 2007 she was the winner of the Concours National des Jeunes Altistes, and was selected for the ARD and Max Rostal International Competition. She has collaborated regularly with Taiwan Connection and Counterpoint Ensemble.
Cello|HUANG Jih-sheng
Born in Kaohsiung City, Mr. HUANG earned degrees from National Taiwan Normal University and Taipei National University of the Arts, and is a member of the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan (NSO). He has performed in MA Yo-yo's masterclass and was praised "rich and beautiful in tone" and "full of excellent Musicality". He has appeared in "The Phantom of the Opera" and "The Lion King" abroad, and has served as the Section Leader of the Taiwan Connection Orchestra.
