\n\nJ.S. Bach:Six Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord, BWV1014-1019The acclaimed violinist Yu-Wen Chen and harpsichordist Mei-Wen Lee make debut in National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) will base on their understanding of Baroque music, add personal touch of interpretation, to present their notable version in order to build an imaginative bridge between Bach‘s music and the audience. The presentation of this concert will use a way of contemporary performance practice to translate the language of Bach‘s Six Sonatas for Violin and Obbligato Harpsichord BWV1014-1019 which are works in trio sonata form with the two upper parts in the harpsichord and violin over a bass line supplied by the harpsichord. Although these six sonatas are not as famous as the Six Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin, they were probably mostly composed during Bach’s final years in Cöthen between 1720 and 1723, before moved to Leipzig. The keyboard part in the sonatas was almost entirely specified by Bach. This concert will use of a double manual Hemsch harpsichord by J.C. Neupert, Germany which is provided by National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying).
