Arts Matinée
“Arts Matinée” presents a series of activities that inspires art appreciation by introducing individual works and conversations with writers, directors, and actors. Discussions will be led by theatre writer/director Tu Shih-Hue and will include visitor participation.
Artists are pioneers in thought and the wheels of actions, constantly emptying the self and adding new elements. The Arts Matinée will embark on a journey that encourages further understanding of the fantastic inner world of theater professionals and enable regular gatherings between art lovers through the sharing of ideas and interaction.

Series Tutor Tu Shih Hue | |
Tu Shih-Hue has an MFA in performing arts from Sarah Lawrence College and has presented multiple theatre works. A writer and director, Tu’s A Voyage to the Island — A Solo Operetta was presented at the 2010 Avignon OFF and was later invited to be performed at the 2012 A l'Est du Nouveau in France. Tu’s recent works are interdisciplinary exhibitions, with Clownerie showcased at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum in 2017. Recent acting experiences include In Our Distance, There Is No Sorrow at the 2018 Taipei Arts Festival and Jian Ji at the Weiwuying Grand Opening in 2018. Tu is also the writer and director for the 2018-19 Gosh Foundation 30th anniversary creative project How Are You?. Tu is the recipient of the British Council Annual Art Award in Theatre for stage director and was given a residency in Australia by Taipei Artist Village. Tu has published three script collections and books Solo Performance and Seeing・Perspective. |
Registration
Prospective participants: We welcome all art and culture lovers. However, Dancing Grandmothers Workshop is only open to participants over the age of 40.
Registration Fees and Number of Places:
- Each theme costs $300 NTD (excluding performance tickets). 20 places are available for each theme. Each person is allowed to register for multiple themes. Places are limited.
- A set ticket for all themes costs $1,800 NTD (excluding performance tickets) with a maximum of 10 people. Participants who attend the entire series will receive a special gift from Weiwuying.
Registration Date: As of today until all places are full.
