Tang Mei Yun Taiwanese Opera Company“Romancing in the Moonlight”
In Shuanghe Township, Fu-lu School and Xi-pi School hold a grudge against each other over some trivial matter. Yan Yi-lang, a Taiwanese student in Japan and the son of the leader of the Fu-lu School, falls in love with Lin Juan-juan, the daughter of the leader of the Xi-pi School. When they come home from Japan, they are forced to face the vicious fighting between the two schools.
It happens that, with the annual temple festival coming, both two schools invite the Shuang-yun-sheng Theater Troupe to perform in front of the local temple. Yun-guei and Yun-jiao, the most famous xiao-sheng actors of the troupe, each harbors some secret.
Through the presentation of two operas, Love Lingers On and A Tender Heart, reveals the entanglements of love between the two talented actors and echo the love of the young couple questioning whether they would be able to get through the difficulties and succeed in getting married in the end.

As the daughter of the “Champion of Taiwanese Opera” has experienced the performances in open-air, TV and Theatre, crossover between movie, drama and opera. In 2018, Tang mei-yun has been honored by the 16th National Award for Arts, and won 38th National Cultural Award in 2018. Her acting experience is plentiful and integrated, both singing and acting skills are excellent, so she is praised as the “Hope of delicate Taiwanese Opera.” Tang mei-yun has not only led Taiwanese Opera to be more refined, but also made a bold attempt to harmonize western symphonies and traditional opera tunes, so as to set up Taiwan's distinctive opera culture and fully show the beauty and creativity of multi-cultural integration.

Having grown up in a family performing Taiwanese operas, she joined the E-sha Group at the age of 14. After gaining experience onstage, she became the main player within the E-sha Group and was admired domestically and throughout the Southeast Asia in 1960s and 70s. Then she joined the performances of Taiwanese opera and inaugurated the second stage of her career. With her substantial training in stage work, Hsiao-mi is versatile in every genre of characters.
