Big Momma | Zuo Han-jie
\n\n\n\t\t\t | \n\t\t\t Zuo Han-jie learned dancing at a young age and became a choreographer as she grew up. She later ventured into the world of drama production and creation. After giving birth to her child, she introduced to her child dramas, where she saw how dramas perfectly inspired children. \n\n\t\t\tZuo graduated from the Graduate Institute of Transdisciplinary Art, National Kaohsiung Normal University and is currently the head and art director of Duet Creation. She endeavors to find the connection between dramas and daily lives from different perspectives. In 2016, she received a grant from the Ministry of Culture to produce her first-ever babe theater performance series[JL1] “We Need a Flower,” where babies’ physical and sensory development were matched with theater elements and aesthetics to inspire the audience. \n\t\t\t | \n\t\t
\nKusomo et son Jalak de Bali, by the Théâtre de la Ville
Kusomo et son Jalak de Bali is a play co-produced by the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) and the Théâtre de la Ville (in France). Yang Yi-lin, the director of the performance, employed simple objects, light, and shadows to showcase the beauty of theaters. Adapted from a true story, Kusomo et son Jalak de Bali tells the story of the difficulties encountered by a young Indonesian refugee (who travels to Australia because of a tsunami disaster) and his childhood “playmate” Jalak de Bali. The play takes the audience on a journey, exploring human values, human rights, friendship, and the courage of growing up. Background music such as Indonesian songs, French songs, Arabic songs, and Mali lullabies will be performed by famous Taiwanese Yangqin player Wang Ya-ping. The audience will be able to watch the onstage performance as well as its production process, allowing them to become a part of its production.
