Following the 2020 Memes Homework Party, this year's Weiwuying Anniversary 3.0 will feature live performances by internationally renowned DJ Junior and DJ Cookie, who will transform the Banyan Plaza into the most exciting club in Southern Taiwan! One night only, experience a different kind of Banyan Plaza, feel the atmospheric breakdown, the exciting build-up, and the forceful drop!
The figurehead of Taipei's nightlife and Taiwan's leading female DJ who broke the gender mold joining forces at Weiwuying. Both began their careers in EDM as teenagers and went on to make a name for themselves: DJ Junior was among the top 5 in the "PYRO Top 100 DJs," and DJ Cookie was named one of Taipei Times' "Top 10 Most Popular DJs" and the first runner-up in DJaneMag's "Top 50 DJanes". Despite their fame and success, they strive to cultivate the EDM culture in Taiwan: DJ Junior develops cutting-edge nightclubs to create EDM platforms; DJ Cookie acts as consultant and director for educational, governmental, and corporate events.

DJ Junior Junior is a famous DJ in Asia and performs in many world-known music festivals, hottest clubs overseas and high-profile fashion events. What started out as a hobby turned into a profession as he broke into the party scene with his mixture of high-octane house at Taipei's trendiest clubs and lounges. Dj Junior started touring more frequently, making heads turn with his international tours, and also launching his hugely popular mixtape series, Sparktronica. His diverse profile includes a range of top clients such as Fendi, IWC, Maserati, Ferrari, Piaget, and Gucci. He has also performed alongside a long list of artist including Jay-Z, Pitbull, Avicii, R3hab, Afrojack, and Fatboy Slim. In 2013, DJ Junior started his own production and start producing original tracks as well as putting out remixes for some high-profile artists. That year also saw him hit the festival circuit highlighted by a show at Ultra Music Festival Korea. In 2014 he followed that up with a mainstage appearance with Steve AOKI at WOW Music Festival in Malaysia, alongside Alesso at Springwave Music Festival, and again on mainstage at Ultra Music Festival Korea and Japan in 2015. In the same year JUNIOR&MYLOK released their first track "Hands Up", which took down TOP 10 on Beatport. Later in the year 2016, JUNIOR&MYLOK released the second original track called "BLITZ". With a foundation of electro and progressive-house, Dj Junior masterfully blends in multiple genres. In 2017, Junior released "Trabanca" with Maddix which took down #1 on Beatport over a week. He also toured with Steve AOKI in China, performed in Ibiza and Ultra Music Festival Korea, Europe, Singapore and Japan; Asia's biggest beach party, ZoukOut; Djakarta Warehouse Project and all the hottest clubs all over the world. | |
DJ Cookie Cookie is the kind of DJ that makes women proud and men swoon. Then you get to know her a little bit and suddenly you learn it is women who swoon and men who are proud. In an industry where females are largely looked at as simply fuel for a market built upon and by masculinity, Cookie has emerged as a polished DJ and producer with sensitive ears who also happens to be blessed with a beautiful face.But what separates her even further from the rest is that she has done this in a culture whose gender is even more divided. Cookie was in fact one of the first female DJs on the small island of Taiwan over a decade ago when record shops on the isle of Formosa were nearly non-existent and all the other girls were conforming to cultural expectations and quietly getting married. Persistence paid off because now she regularly opens shows for DJs like Armin VAN BUUREN, Paul VAN DYK and Diplo, and also spends her weekends jetting around Asia and performing in its most illustrious clubs. So when GQ Magazine calls her Asia's most beautiful DJ, it is a title that only complements her finesse and fortunes when it comes to music and makes her a first-class example of why sexism in the industry is nothing more than a tenfold cliché. |
