\n\nYU Yen-fang

YU Yen-fang is a choreographer, performer, improviser, and dance instructor from Taiwan. Since 2001, YU has choreographed, collaborated and performed with companies and individual performing artists in Taiwan, the U.S. and Europe. In 2011, YU returned to her home country, Taiwan, to continue exploration as a performing artist. In 2013, she initiated a research project entitled: Project MuoMuo. With a collective of young, emerging artists from multi-disciplinary backgrounds, they work to develop an artistic voice that is poetic, specific, and accessible to the audience from her home country and abroad. In 2020, her solo piece Propositions on Disappearance lll was nominated by the Taishin Annual Grand Prize. In 2021, she was invited as the Weiwuying residency artist for the Museum of Human Emotions project.

YU Tai-jung

As an independent producer and dramaturg in performing arts fields, Yu holds a MA in theatre arts from Taipei National University of the Arts. Due to his multiple artistic training in the early years, Yu can easily shift his practices and combines them with aesthetics of different genres. He is currently the Vice President of IATC Taiwan branch, Chief Editor of DUMAXI – Taiwanese Circus Media, and the member of Asian Producers’ Platform. He was the international affairs manager and resident dramaturg of Formosa Circus Art(FOCA). He represented FOCA in the founding committee of Circus Asia Network since 2018. Yu has participated in following productions of FOCA as a dramaturg: Wukong: Before the Journey to the West, Disappearing Island, Circus As Folks, and Mr. III三III(WIP). He curated and co-organized some of the crucial circus forum in Taiwan, including 2018 Taiwan Contemporary Circus Forum and 2019 Taiwan International Contemporary Circus Forum at National Centre for the Arts - Weiwuying. He has been invited as the facilitator of Artist Residency Project in Weiwuying Circus Platform 2019-2021.

Circus Artists
\n\nLO Yuan-yang
\n\n\n\t\t |
LO Yuan-yang is originally from New Taipei City. He joined the Formosa Circus in 2013 and participated in the Festival OFF Avignon with the group twice. LO has a deep foundation in stunts and juggling, as well as a natural sense of harlequin joy. He has long focused on the diligence and expressive development of juggling stick skills. In recent years, he has paid more attention to the combination of objects and concepts. With the support of the team, he has developed his work "Mr. III 三 III". He has participated in the French OBERNAI New Circus Festival, the DGI Danish Festival of Sports and Culture, and the French A l'Est du Nouveau in Champagne.

CHANG Shu-huan

CHANG Shu-huan is a native of New Taipei City. She graduated from the Department of Acrobatics of the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts and is currently a reserve member of the Formosa Circus Art (FOCA). Specializes in handstand, trapeze, plate-turning acrobatics, turning blanket, bicycle skills, etc.

YANG Shih-hao

YANG Shih-hao is the founder and artistic director of Circus Gate. Since 2011, he has been involved with Circus by starting playing with hat juggling. He has participated in many festivals, such as the Young stage in Switzerland, Circuba in Cuba, Variete Am Seepark Freiburg in Germany, and On-site in Macau.
\n\nSince 2015, he has started learning the Cyr wheel stunts. His performances span from theatre play to street performances. He won the Tainan Street Artist Competition and served as a guest performer at Japan's Shizuoka World Cup Street Art Festival. His Cyr wheel performance inline has exceeded 10 million views. After appearing on the stage of the Asian Got Talent Show, he became famous. Currently, he is dedicated to creating and developing Circus arts and records the development of Taiwanese circus culture.

LI Jui-hung

National Taiwan College of Performing Arts of Acrobatics Bachelor's degree (NTCPA), 12-year class student majoring in acrobatics and juggling.
\n\n2018 participated in the performance of Zuni Icosahedron, performed Heavenly Palace of Monkey Business and The Interrupted Dream directed by Danny YUNG at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
\n\n2018 participated in Taoyuan Land Art Festival Water Young Taoyuan.
\n\n2018 Awarded First place in Adult Group in the Gold Medal Competition.
\n\n2018 Bronze medal in Floor Exercise of the general men group in the 2018 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games.
\n\n2019 participated in the opera TOSCA directed by the founder of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre- Lin Hwai-min, and performed at the National Concert Hall.
\n\n2019 participated in the musical Musical TARU, performed at the National Theatre, Taichung Opera Theatre, and National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying).
\n\n2019 participated in Taoyuan Southern Fujian Cultural Festival Dou Zhen, as a stuntman and dancer, performed with singer WAN Fang.
\n\n2020 was invited to participate in Ju Percussion Group Laboratory, collaborated with percussion musicians, acted as the action designer and actor of PerCus.
\n\n2020 cooperate with Weiwuying Circus Platform Open Studio.
\n\n2020 participated in New Image Acrobatic Theater Mountain and Sea. Ganghood .Hacker, performed Mime, Drama and Aerial ropes at the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts.
\n\n2021 participated in the opening show of TaiKang Fantasia Pandora's Box at TaiKang Cultural Center.

WANG Ning, born in 1991, is a contemporary dancer and choreographer from Taipei, Taiwan. Launching a series of experiments about dance making, she debuted her solo, 15-minute Proposal of Movements (2020), to question the pure presence of a dancer's body. In her current choreography praxes, WANG attempts to explore the embodiment of democracy from the individual to the community.

WANG Chu-hua

Born in 1991, a native of Taipei, Taiwan, WANG Chu-hua graduated from the Graduate School of Dance, Taipei National University of the Arts and is now a performing arts worker. In recent years, she has become curious about performance methods and forms other than the pure body. At this stage, she focuses on the performance concept of "consciousness leads body behaviour to produce actions, and how body performance interprets inner activities."Her experiment is not limited to the body, in addition to the dance works. She was also involved in theatrical works, sound performances, and photography. She has won the talent promotion plan of the Ministry of Education and went to France CNDC, Angers Dance Company for an internship, and exchange study at Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany.

CHEN Yi-en

\n\nCHEN Yi-en is a contemporary choreographer and performer. He started to learn dance because he wanted to choreograph. During his studies, he has won awards from several Taiwanese youth creative platforms, such as the Young Stars New Vision project from National Art Association. He joined Cloud Gate 2 in 2015 and was featured in the Spring Fight series produced by the artistic director CHENG Tsung-lung. Later, he was supported by the Ministry of Culture to go to La Cité Internationale des Arts for exchanges and study in Europe. CHEN is committed to dance promotion and cross-domain performance cooperation and continues to grow through collaboration and exchanges.

SHIH Min-wen

SHIH Min-wen was born in 1998 and her Zodiac sign is Aquarius. Graduated from the Department of Dance, University of Taipei (2020), she is currently a freelance artist (performer, creator, teaching). At this stage, she focuses on collecting various perceptions of life to deconstruct and transform them into body vocabulary. She also actively cooperated with different artists to accumulate experience.

KE Yu-fang

KE Yu-fang was born in Tainan in 1996 and majored in dance from high school to college. After graduation, she explores the possibility of body art via creation, performance and teaching. Over the years, she participates in many projects including theatre dance, exhibition, community art, video art and live art. Her creation is about the connection between life and time and also does related works from 2019 till now.
