【Weiwuying Anniversary 4.0】Taipei Philharmonic Theatre - A Lamb Roll-Call: Wolf in Disguise
Rumor has it that whoever gets hold of the Treasure Book of Celestial Herbs gains invincible power.
And so it begins... an unprecedented battle between the wolf, sheep, and hound clans.
The most popular kid-friendly musical produced by Taipei Philharmonic Theatre.
The first-ever Chinese martial arts musical,
adapted from the well-known Parable of the Lost Sheep.
A musical comparable to Disney and Broadway productions
about family love, friendship, and the power of unity.
Adapted from the Parable of the Lost Sheep in the Bible, the story depicts the battle between the world's three biggest groups, the wolves, the sheep, and the hounds, for the "elixir of life", the Treasure Book of Celestial Herbs. During the "War of the Herbs", the wolves invaded the home of the sheep and burned down the Temple of the Herbs. Fearing that the whole sheep and hound family would be wiped out, the elders led 100 lambs, with the Book in hand, to hide in depths of mountains, while the only surviving hound warrior continued its mission of safeguarding the sheep. Winning such a victory in the invasion, the wolves, however, failed to locate the Book. How would the sheep protect the Book? Come see the musical to find out.
The martial arts musical A Lamb Roll-Call: Wolf in Disguise is produced by Taipei Philharmonic Theatre. Jointly created by the cutting-edge director KAO Tien-heng and composer CHU Yi-chieh, the musical has run for more than 20 performances throughout Taiwan since its premiere in 2017, continuously receiving positive reviews. This year, in April, 2022, the production is going to be staged at the Playhouse of the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) for the first time. As seen from the elders of the sheep and the queen of the wolves, the story emphasizes parents' unconditional love towards children, who are all unique in their own way. The sincere relation between the sheep and the wolves will show the younger audience the importance of unity and inclusion between peers. With a moving storyline and great songs, it is a family musical that you wouldn't want to miss.
