Singer
Hanfi
Emerging artist Hanfi made her striking debut in 2023 at the tender age of twenty, releasing her first wholly original album that beautifully melds pop-folk, British rock, and indie styles, effectively creating her distinct sonic universe. In addition to her Chinese songs, Hanfi has captivated a wide audience with her masterful renditions of classic Japanese songs. Her love for literature and cinema is evident in her diverse artistic pursuits, from managing her own calligraphy-themed social media account, where she shares insights on books and films, to personally crafting visual materials for her music videos. She further displays her creativity by contributing to the design of her merchandise. Her ingenuity and creative prowess are on full display in these endeavors. Hanfi has also garnered attention from the world of fashion, having been invited to feature in a special project by ELLE magazine. Hanfi is truly blossoming as a candid and independent singer-songwriter for a new generation.
Fran
"Versatile Aesthete" Fran is a multi-talented artist who takes on various roles including singer, songwriter, producer, composer, and columnist. In 2020, she won the Best Original Film Song at the 57th Golden Horse Awards for her work on "Dear Tenant." From being the lead vocalist of the indie band "Frandé” to becoming a Golden Horse winner, Fran has come a long way. Building on her previous success with the release of her EP Another Soul two years ago, she capitalized on her momentum and released her first full-length album, Soft on You, last year.
Soft on You includes various notable tracks, such as "Shattered," a collaboration with Rhydian Vaughan the duet "Killing Me Softly With Your Love" with YELLOW, the emotionally poignant "Losing Me," where she and Jam Hsiao demonstrate their vocal prowess in a harmonious yet distant manner, the cathartic masterpiece "Hey Weirdo" with TRASH's lead vocalist Aye, and the tailor-made ending theme for the drama series The Leaking Bookstore, titled "Be Good to Yourself, Please." In this album, Fran reveals multiple facets of her artistry, presenting a richer and more open musical style.
Everyone encounters Fran in their unique way - some have been following her band Frandé closely, some have been touched by her compositions for other singers, while others have been moved by her film and drama soundtracks. Regardless of how people get to know her, all of these experiences contribute to the sum of Fran's artistry.
One constant aspect of Fran is her candid expression of love and hatred through her singing, embracing her audience tightly with her music. Fran hopes that regardless of when people come to know her, they can rediscover her through each new piece of work. By embracing resilience and spontaneity together, they can face the ever-changing world in the most authentic way and confront the neglected parts of themselves that have never been treated with earnestness and kindness.
