\n'},{title:"Bolero Q&A",content:'
Q: With 38 administrative districts in Kaohsiung, do you know how many are by the sea?
\n\nA: There are 10 districts along the coastline stretching from north to south, including Qiaotou, Yong-An, Mituo, Ziguan, Nanzi, Zuoying, Gushan, Qijin, Xiaogang, and Linyuan.
\n\n\n\n
Q: What exactly is Bolero?
\n\nA: Bolero originated with French composer Ravel, born in 1875. His final symphony, titled "Bolero," was first performed in 1928. Choreographer CHOU Shu-yi took inspiration from this symphony to create "1875 Ravel and Bolero" in 2006. After winning a prestigious award at the UK's Sadler's Wells Theatre in 2009, CHOU initiated the "Dance Travel Project" in 2011, which brought Bolero out of the theater to cities worldwide, often performing in public spaces for free. Over a hundred performances have been held to date.
\n\n\n\n
Q: Why not limit the performances to theaters?
\n\nA: CHOU Shu-yi believes that art shouldn't have barriers, and even if it does, one should "Just dance!" The aim is to provide a way for people to bravely immerse themselves in art. By performing without stages or elaborate lighting and adapting to each location, Bolero strives to make art an integral part of daily life, accessible to all.
\n\n\n\n
Q: Isn't the ground too hot when you perform in public spaces?
\n\nA: Adapting to various conditions, such as weather and venue, is part of the challenge. In the summer, performance areas can become as hot as a grill, requiring the team to cool them down with water before the show begins.
\n\n\n\n
Q: Can Bolero perform near my home?
\n\nA: To invite Bolero to perform near you, engage with us on Facebook or Instagram by liking and leaving a comment with your request!
\n\n\n\n
Q: Can audience members join in the dance?
\n\nA: Absolutely! But be prepared—it may take quite some practice to keep up with our dancers.
\n\n\n\n
Q: How many performances has Bolero completed, and in how many locations?
\n\nA: Since 2006, Bolero has held over a hundred performances, spanning dozens of cities across Taiwan and abroad. This year, Bolero is on track to reach a new milestone: performing in all 38 administrative districts of Kaohsiung.
