2024 Weiwuying Training Program for Theater Technicians
With the rapid evolution of equipment, program formats, and changing stage technology needs in theater both domestically and internationally, there is an increasing demand for professional technicians of varying levels. As the center of performing arts in southern Taiwan, the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) is once again cooperating with the Taiwan Association of Theatre Technology (TATT) in holding the 2024 Training Program for Theater Technicians. This year, there will be two categories of courses: Theater Technology – Basic Level and Theater Technology – Advanced Level. The basic course consists of units on general theater education, safety, and basic theater technology, which are aimed at establishing fundamental concepts of theater technology. The three advanced courses (focusing on either lighting, Image and Video technology, or sound technology) each consist of units on stage technology guidance, safety, and advanced theater technology.
As experts in the field share their knowledge, trainees will be given opportunities to learn hands-on to firmly grasp what they have learned in the classroom and boost southern Taiwan's overall capacity in the theater technology realm.
