[2025 Weiwuying International Music Festival] Inmo YANG Violin Recital - Sensations of Sound
Paganini Violin Competition First Prize winner Inmo YANG, from Korea, will offer his "captivating and exquisite" PAGANINI, opening with the composer's beautiful yet challenging Variations on "Nel Cor Piu Non Mi Sento." He will follow with three selected caprices from the 24 Caprices, regarded as the pinnacle of violin technique, showcasing precision and wild intensity. Continuing the capriccio theme, the program features Taiwanese premieres of four works by contemporary composers SCIARRINO and THOMAS, blending experimental harmonies and techniques. Taiwan pianist WANG Pei-yao will join on stage, performing SCHUBERT's Rondo Brillant in b minor and FRANCK's Sonata in A Major, where violin and piano engage in a lyrical dialogue that reflects the many facets of love.

South Korean violinist Inmo YANG's beguiling sound is imbued with poetry and underpinned by unwavering technical prowess which quickly brought him to some of the most prestigious stages in the world including New York Philharmonic and the LA Phil in the upcoming season and Orchestre National de France, BBC Symphony Orchestra, and Carnegie Hall in the previous seasons.
The 24/25 season opens with Asia tour with Berliner Barock Solisten and a return to Oulu Symphony Orchestra for their PROKOFIEV Festival, followed by several important debuts with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Tampere Philharmonia, Dresdner Philharmonie, and BBC Philharmonic. He also returns to Seoul Philharmonic under their chief conductor Jaap VAN ZWEDEN for a concert in Abu Dhabi, Richmond Symphony, and Orchestre de la Suisse Romande before they embark on a tour to Korea at the end of the season.
He is the first prize winner of both the 2015 International Violin Competition 'Premio Paganini' in Genoa, Italy, and the 2022 Jean Sibelius Violin Competition. It was the first time since 2006 that the Paganini Competition jury awarded First Prize and Fabio LUISI, the chair of the jury at the time, commented: "Inmo is an intuitive musician. His Paganini is captivating and exquisite."
Piano|WANG Pei-yao
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, At age 12, WANG was invited to study at The Curtis Institute of Music, where she worked with Seymour Lipkin and Institute Director Gary Graffman. She then studied with Claude FRANK at Yale University, where she received the Master of Music degree, and also pursued a concentration in architecture. She currently resides in New York City, where for several years she was under the tutelage of celebrated pianist Richard GOODE. WANG is a graduate of The Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Program. She has worked with noted conductors throughout the world, such as James LEVINE, New York Philharmonic Conductor Alan GILBERT to name a few. As part of the production team at the Metropolitan Opera, the noted opera production of "Doctor Atomic" by John ADAMS was nominated for a Grammy Award in December of 2011. In 2011, Ms. WANG's latest record release of "River of Light" with violinist Timothy FAIN received wide acclaim, and was selected on the "new and noteworthy" list on iTunes.
