2026 TMAF Orchestra Concert
The Taipei Music Academy & Festival (TMAF) is dedicated to unlocking young musicians' potential through intensive training by concertmasters of top orchestras and world-renowned musicians, resulting in remarkable performances. In 2026, the TMAF Orchestra, led by maestro Hans GRAF, will perform Richard WAGNER's The Flying Dutchman Overture, Claude DEBUSSY's La Mer and Nikolai RIMSKY-KORSAKOV's Scheherazade. Continuing a cherished tradition, faculty will sit alongside students, providing hands-on guidance and creating music together. As TMAF marks its eighth year, it remains committed to bringing world-class masters to Taiwan, fostering a high-caliber musical environment, and offering young musicians the chance to learn and perform closely with celebrated artists.

Armed with a spirit of musical curiosity and discovery, creative programming and his commanding presence on stage, Austrian conductor Hans GRAF has raised orchestras to new heights while winning audiences young and old alike. Most recently, GRAF has served as the Singapore Symphony Orchestra's first Quantedge Music Director, achieving "a brave new world of music-making under inspired direction" (The Straits Times) since his appointment in the 2020-21 season. He was formerly Music Director of the Houston Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, Basque National Orchestra and the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. GRAF frequently appears with all major orchestras in North America, including Cleveland, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Montreal, Toronto, and a special friendship with the Boston Symphony developed over 20 years.

Dedicated to fostering international musical exchange and elevating Taiwan's profile in the global classical music community. TMAF offers a comprehensive program featuring private lessons, chamber music, masterclasses, orchestral mock auditions, full orchestral training, and musicianship development.
Talented young musicians from around the world are selected to participate in a two-week intensive program under the guidance of renowned international faculty. Led by distinguished conductors such as Jahja LING (2019), Kent NAGANO (2022), Leonard SLATKIN (2021, 2023-2024), and Fabio LUISI (2025). TMAF's orchestra has received rave reviews for its performances at renowned venues including the National Concert Hall, the National Taichung Theater, the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, the Frost Amphitheater at Stanford University, and the Caroline H. Hume Concert Hall at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. With its annual summer tour, TMAF has established itself as a leading international music festival in Asia.
